The postseason has not been kind to Ben Simmons.
The player has always had his demons regarding the game of basketball. His aggressiveness has been questionable since he was a rookie, and his complete lack of a jumper has convinced many that the star needs to change hands.
While these problems existed in this past regular season as well, they were often masked by the game’s low intensity. However, in the postseason, every team is free to pick on him.
He has been downright terrible for the Philadelphia 76ers at times during this playoff run. And hat fact did not change with game-6 of the 76ers series against the Hawks.
Fortunately, Seth Curry and Tobias Harris had big games. They led the franchise to a 104-99 win and forced a tantalizing game-7.
After the game, Simmons put out a certain tweet. And let’s just say, the NBA community is not happy about it.
Ben Simmons posts a picture of himself after the game on Twitter, and fans of the NBA are absolutely livid about it
During game-5 of this series, Ben Simmons had 8 points. Worse, he did this on 4 field goals, and 14 free throws. And for those who don’t know, he only made 4 of his shots from the charity stripe.
Usually, when stars have such awful games, they tend to put their head down and look to prove themselves in the next one. At the end of the day, it’s that dogged mentality that makes them better than most other players in the league. But, it seems Simmons was happy to lay yet another egg in game-6.
The player had just 6 points. He did this on 2 of 6 from the field, and 2 of 4 from the free-throw line.
Yep, he actually managed to play worse. And after the game, the player tweeted this out.

Frankly, we understand why fans are angry about this tweet. It isn’t the tweet itself that’s infuriating, but what it represents.
When NBA players play horribly in important games, they tend to stay off social media and concentrate on the game ahead. However, in this case, fans are seeing Ben Simmons go on and celebrate a win to which he didn’t even play a part.
Game 7 may just be as important to Simmons personally, as it is to the rest of the franchise. Because, if he plays abysmally once again, this could be his last season with the Philadelphia 76ers.
