"Born With My Father's Ability": Michael Jordan's Daughter Jasmine Justifies Her Work Ethic For $5.1 Billion Brand With Forever 21 Anecdote in 2020

Michael Jordan is one of the most recognizable faces in the sports world. A big part of that has to do with the success of Jordan Brand. But it’s Michael Jordan’s daughter Jasmine Jordan, who is working relentlessly to bring the brand to where it is now. The brand made over $5.1 billion in revenue during the last financial year. Jasmine also sat down with 9Mag TV to give a glimpse into her life and her childhood. Jasmine was quick to point out that her relentless work ethic was instilled in her by her parents, Jordan especially. Jasmine even mentioned that she was always eager to find her way in life, even working at Forever 21 as a 15-year-old, so she could feel independent.

Jordan himself was known to have a brutal work ethic. No. 23 is synonymous with the spirit of hard work, dedication, and domination. Jordan’s will to always work hard is something he passed down to his 3 kids. But it is clear from even a little glimpse that Jasmine had inherited her father’s work ethic.

Jasmine Jordan believes her work ethic is inherited

Jasmine Jordan sat down with 9Mag TV for an interview in 2020. During the interview, the host asked Jasmine if she had inherited her work ethic from her father. Answering after a little thought, Jordan’s daughter said:

“Work ethic was something that was instilled in me. I was born with it. I was born with my father’s ability to be determined and committed to something and there is no avoiding it. So for me, I always worked hard.”

Jasmine even went further and explained:

“I always joke about it. My first job was at 15 working at Forever 21 as a sales associate. I loved it. I knew that no matter what at some point, I will have to work, and if that was the case I would do it on my terms. I wanted to get my first job, I wanted to get my feet wet. I wanted to know what it’s like to hold my own and make my own money. I didn’t rely on what was made before me.”

Jasmine then goes on to explain how she is known even at Jordan Brand to be a hard worker, even though it’s her dad’s company.

Jasmine talks about competitiveness and growing the Jordan Brand

Jasmine who is now a field representative at Jordan Brand has bought over 13 WNBA athletes under the Jordan Brand. During the interview with 9Mag TV, she even talks about her competitiveness, telling the host:

Oh absolutely. I am competitive. I don’t like to lose. I am very competitive. Competition is definitely in my bloodline, there is no denying it.

Jasmine even told the host about her role in the Jordan Brand, which is in relationship to the female apparel division. Jasmine told the host how her drive and competition coupled with the right timing has led to unprecedented success for the female line of the brand.
