Bruno Caboclo

Houston Rockets forward Bruno Caboclo accidentally violates quarantine rules in the NBA Orlando Bubble and will miss 8 training days.

Houston Rockets have suffered yet another blow. After Rockets superstar Russell Westbrook confirmed that he has tested positive for COVID-19, his teammate Bruno has violated the quarantine rules in Orlando.

Although media reports state that he accidentally violated them, Caboclo will still have to restart his quarantine process. As a result, the forward will miss eight days of various team activities.

Bruno Caboclo and his accidental mistake

Caboclo ‘inadvertently’ broke quarantine and will have to spend a further 8 days in isolation before he can leave his room again. The forward wasn’t aware that he had to stay in his room during the initial quarantine period. He is the first star to violate the quarantine rules.

While it does seem like an honest mistake on part of Bruno Caboclo, one also smells ignorance. The Houston Rockets star and the team management as a whole need to do a better job at ensuring players are aware of the NBA Bubble protocols.

One small mistake and a coronavirus spread could jeopardise the entire season restart.

He has played just 5 games for the Rockets this year and has scored a total of 10 points.

What’s next for the Rockets?

The Rockets arrived in Orlando without their two all-stars Westbrook and Harden. James Harden hasn’t arrived in Orlando whereas Westbrook is in quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19.

The Rockets currently have a record of 40-24 this season and are tied with the Thunders for the fifth seed. Harden and Westbrook have not practiced with their team yet.
