Buddy Hield wants to play in Dallas': Kings star planning to team up with Mavericks' Luka Doncic

Disgruntled Sacramento Kings guard Buddy Hield is angling for a move away from the franchise and has listed Dallas as his preferred destination.

There was news of a falling-out between Kings head coach Luke Walton and Hield last season. The guard was demoted to the bench lineup with Bogdan Bogdanovic starting at the 2-guard spot. While Hield remained an excellent shooter, he did not provide the playmaking required for the bench mob.

The Kings have the longest ongoing playoff drought in the NBA today. With few means to improve their roster, their future looks dreary despite having De’Aaron Fox on their roster.

What can the Dallas Mavericks offer the Kings for Buddy Hield

If indeed Hield is waiting on a trade to Dallas, the franchise can offer Tim Hardaway Jr, who is expected to pick up the player option on the final year of his deal. In addition, the Kings would be wanting a draft pick, as Hield is a surefire offensive upgrade over THJ.

The Mavs could alternatively offer a combination of Seth Curry, Boban Marjanovic and Delon Wright without picks to the Kings. At this point, Vivek Ranadive would be prepared to do anything to make the playoffs for the first time in 15 years.

Which other teams could be in play for Buddy Hield?

A guy with the offensive profile of Hield could fit on just about any NBA team – especially contenders looking to add shooters. The likes of the Philadelphia 76ers have been mentioned in the recent past as being in play for the shooting guard.

However, there is no clear sign of where Hield will end up, if he does eventually get traded from the Kings. For now, they need to stock up on assets while trying to improve the roster from within.
