“I’d trade Kyle Kuzma for J Cole”: NBA Analyst Shannon Sharpe takes a hilarious dig at Lakers forward after atrocious playoff performances this year
After an underwhelming season, the Los Angeles Lakers are thinking of trading Kyle Kuzma during this offseason.
A few years ago, the Los Angeles Lakers held Kyle Kuzma as one of the prized possession. They hoped that the youngster is destined for greatness with the Purple and Gold. He showed all the glimpses of turning into a top-class scoring forward.
Kuzma may not have developed into the player he was destined to become. But he took a lesser role at the Lakers allowing LeBron James and Anthony Davis to take the center stage. The move paid off for the franchise as they won the 2019-20 NBA Championship under LeBron and AD’s guidance.
However, the following season was not as they would have liked. The Purple and Gold army were knocked out in the first round of the playoffs. Kyle Kuzma had the chance to prove his mettle especially when LeBron and AD were out injured.
But the forward failed to prove himself and hence several fans have suggested using him as a trade piece this offseason. The 25-year-old averaged 12.9 points, 6.1 assists and 1.9 rebounds per game. It is pretty low considering the standards that the Lakers management expects from him.
“I’d take J Cole for Kyle Kuzma,” Shannon Sharpe came up with a hilarious dig at the Lakers forward
Several rumblings are revolving around Kuzma and his potential trade this offseason. NBA Analyst Shannon Sharp came up with the best trade in the market for the Lakers.
In a recent video, Sharpe suggested that he would even trade Kyle Kuzma in exchange for rapper J Cole. The rapper turned basketball player recently played for a team in Rwanda for a short while this season.

J Cole has been a big follower of the NBA and the sport has always attracted him. Hence he tried his hand at professional basketball. He featured for the Rwanda Patriots BBC, a team in the Basketball Africa League. He clocked 45 minutes in total from three appearances and scored five points along with five rebounds and 3 assists.
It was Sharpe taking a dig at Kuzma and it was all in good fun. The 25-year-old forward may not have progressed how th Lakers would have wanted. But still, he is a quality player who has time on his side to shine in the NBA.
However, he may opt for a new start and play for a franchise where the limelight will be on him. He also could stay at LA and help LeBron and AD reclaim the ring next season.
