‘Cheeky’ Shaquille O’Neal Uploads Insane 97 Yard Stephen Curry Golf Video Days After Charles Barkley Picked Patrick Mahomes for ‘The Match’

Shaquille O’Neal is an NBA legend who is not so easy to impress. Big Diesel is quite critical of many players and does not shy away from emphasizing a player’s faults when observing them. However, even he has a soft spot for one or two of them, and his favorite is none other than Stephen Curry. Steph is easing himself into the off-season, preparing to participate in the 2023 Capital One’s The Match. And, as it is just around the corner, his biggest celebrity fan, AKA Shaq has been hyping up his golf skills on Instagram.

Capital One’s The Match is a premier golf event featuring big-time athletes and celebrities. This year’s edition will see Steph and his “Splash Brother”, Klay Thompson take on Kansas City Chief stars, and two-time Super Bowl Champions, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. Charles Barkley believes that the duo of Mahomes and Kelce will beat Steph and Klay. But, Shaq’s cheeky story about Curry’s 97-yard golf shot may say otherwise.

Shaquille O’Neal shares cheeky video of a 97-yard golf shot, hyping up Stephen Curry before The Match

To many people, Stephen Curry is nothing more than the greatest three-point shooter to ever live. An NBA superstar soon to become an NBA legend. However, Steph is far more than just a hooper. The four-time NBA Champion has a lot of hobbies, one of which includes golf.

The Warriors star is an avid golfer and takes any chance he gets to hit the courses. In fact, he is scheduled to participate in the 2023 edition of Capital One’s The Match. Steph will play alongside his Golden State teammate Klay Thompson. And their opponents will be the superstar NFL duo, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

So, with such big names involved it has attracted attention, with many people already having their favorites on who will win. The same goes for Shaquille O’Neal. The Big Aristotle has already made his pick, and it is none other than his favorite NBA player Steph. Shaq even hyped up Curry with an IG story showing a video of an incredible 97-yard golf shot the latter made in the 2022 American Century Championship.

It certainly will be great to see Steph participate in The Match for a second time. And, this time he will be hoping to win. After all, when he participated back in 2020 things didn’t go so well. Especially as he lost to another avid golfer in Charles Barkley.

Despite raising $5,400,000 Steph is still bitter about losing to Charles Barkley in the 2020 edition of The Match

Stephen Curry isn’t exactly a rookie heading into the 2023 edition of The Match. The Baby-faced Assassin actually participated in the 2020 edition, titled “The Match: Champions for Change”. This edition was a charity event, the proceed of which would go to Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Curry teamed up with NFL legend Peyton Manning and took Charles Barkley and Phil Mickelson. And, despite raising close to $5,400,000, Chef Curry is still bitter about the loss.

One thing is for sure, Steph will not want a repeat of 2020 when he and Klay face Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. And, given all the time he’s had to practice, he and his fellow “Splash Brother” should come out on top.
