“Chris Paul Tried to Keep Stephen Curry at Bay!”: Draymond Green’s $100,000,000 Demand Leads to Fans Unearthing ‘True’ Feelings About New Teammate
Draymond Green recently opted out of his $27 million player option. Almost subsequently, the Warriors shocked the NBA community with their decision to trade Jordan Poole and some picks for Chris Paul from the Wizards. Both events are correlated, and the latter is the Dubs’ attempt to keep their point forward. However, they may have to lose $100,000,000 for it. On the other hand, there is also a problem with Green and Stephen Curry not having liked CP3 for a long time now. And going off that, fans have dug up an old clip where Green is talking about his true feelings for the “Point God”.
As Steph doesn’t have any kind of bitterness in him, he finds it tough to understand who wishes well for him and who doesn’t. In the Dubs camp, Green is certainly one of the people who love him and is even a tad overprotective of him. However, oftentimes that can lead both of them into serious trouble. And the incident in question here, is no different.
NBA Twitter finds a clip where Draymond Green reveals he created a division between Chris Paul and Stephen Curry
In an All The Smoke appearance from back in 2020, Draymond Green revealed how he doesn’t like Chris Paul at all. He candidly revealed how he felt Paul was keeping Steph at Bay, without the latter knowing it. So he took it upon himself to create a “division” between two of the greatest point guards of all time.
Watch the exchange between Green, and former Warriors Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, in the following clip by Hoops Bot.

“I don’t like CP at all… like we don’t have a good relationship at all, but I like his hustle and I like his IQ. He’s smart as hell,” Green said of Chris Paul on All the Smoke. “I was kinda seeing CP keeping Steph at bay, but yeah, giving him a stiff arm at the same time… Steph ain’t cut like, he ain’t got the street part to him… and so, I took it upon myself to fu**ing create division there [between Chris Paul and Steph Curry].”
Since Paul and his Clippers stopped the Dubs in the 1st round of the 2013 playoffs, Steph Curry and Co. have roared back, knocking CP3 out of the postseason both times they met. And in/after both of those series, we saw some great back-and-forth between Paul and Curry on and off the court.
Can this rivalry really turn into friendship? Will Green let it happen?
Is CP3 coming to the Bay Area going to affect Green’s decision?
Most certainly not. Steve Kerr and the Warriors’ ownership must have discussed it thoroughly with Green before shipping Poole away for Paul.
Just his contract part must be the current subject of discussion in the front office. And as Steve Kerr has already said, the Warriors won’t be a contender without Draymond.
So, whoever comes and goes, unless the Dubs don’t completely decide on a rebuild, they cannot be looking to break up the core of Steph, Draymond, and Klay Thompson. No matter how much they cost them.
