CP3 and LeBron go way back in terms of their friendship, both on and off the court. Both are aged 36 today and are still 2 of the top playmakers in the league.
As things stand, if the Phoenix Suns go on to win the NBA Finals, CP3 has got easily the best odds of winning the Bill Russell Finals MVP award, and with good reason. Paul has unleashed the Suns’ young core to a degree we didn’t think was possible till this year.
While LeBron was definitely smarting when CP3’s Suns eliminated his Lakers in the first round, it seems that he’s quickly gotten over his defeat and is now pulling for his friend of 20 years.

Arsenio Hall, who was a guest host on the show last night, asked LeBron whether he’s currently watching basketball. James has already let his support be known to the public through Twitter, and he proceeded to do so again:
“I have a horse in the race and he goes by the name of Chris Paul. So I have been watching. That is my brother and I’ve known him since my junior year in high school and his sophomore year.”
“We actually met for the first time when we were in 8th grade. We played in the same AAU national basketball tournament in Orlando, Florida, and then we officially met my junior year and his sophomore year. And we’ve been friends ever since.”
Hall then raised the subject of how Paul has become the godfather for Bryce James. LeBron expanded on this as well, detailing how CP3 was present with him at the hospital for Bryce’s birth:
“He was at the hospital for the birth of my second child – my second son Bryce Maximus. And it happened to be during the NBA Finals. So he’s the godfather for Bryce James.”
“And Bryce came out the night before and then I proceeded to get my a** kicked by the Spurs the next day. So it was no sleep for me then.”
