The All-Star starters list was announced earlier today, and while there were a lot of expected faces, there were also some major snubs. One of the biggest snubs was Luka Doncic being picked over Damian Lillard.
In the list of the starters announced, it was shown that Luka Doncic was picked over Damian Lillard, despite the two having the same weighted score.
Lillard led in the players’ vote and the media vote, but ultimately Doncic was given the edge as he had more fan votes. This did not sit right with a lot of people, considering how well Lillard has been playing this season.
“Early fav season MVP too”: CJ McCollum reacts to snub with his season predictions for Dame
Damian Lillard has been phenomenal this season. He has been averaging 29.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 7.7. assists, and 1.1 steals. Dame is not only putting up impressive stats, he is also shooting at a high level.
He has been shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 38.4 from deep. The Blazers have a six-game winning streak and have won 8 out of their 10 games thanks to Dame. He has been carrying the team in the absence of CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic.
Despite putting up all these numbers, Dame got snubbed for the starter’s spot. CJ had something to say about the same.

CJ knows how well his teammate performs when he is backed into a corner and is counting on it. While Cavs’ big Kevin Love was taking Damian Lillard to be his All-Star MVP candidate, CJ went on to call him an early favorite for the season MVP honors too.
Damian Lillard should be a shoo-in for the All-Star reserves, which would be announced on Tuesday, 23rd February.
