We’re going to come right out and say it. This Damian Lillard saga has been dragged out far too long for it to even be fun anymore.

Every time a reporter or an NBA Insider has made a claim about the franchise superstar, he has swooped right in to deny it completely. It’s come to the point that fans have almost started to lose interest in this whole fiasco.

Recently though, a reporter made a very bold claim, far bolder than what the NBA community had seen before, so it gave a few fans some hope. But, was it really true?

No prizes for guessing the answer right, but if you said “of course not!”, you are absolutely right. And by the way, “do I look stupid to you?” would have been acceptable too.

That aside, however, this time around, Dame Dolla didn’t just dispel these rumors alone. No, no, no. This time, he had his guy CJ McCollum help him out.

Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum have a hilarious back and forth about the ridiculousness of a report on Twitter

So, it all started with long-time NBA reporter Henry Abbot saying this on the social media app.

As we said, due to how bold the rumor was, some fans actually believed it. But of course, Damian Lillard had to come in and steal the man’s thunder, with the following tweet.

Then, of course, CJ McCollum wanted to join in and make fun of this whole situation. But to be fair to him, the report was pretty ridiculous in the first place.

Then we have one last word from the man himself Dame Dolla.

And of course, it all ends with CJ McCollum putting in a plug for his podcast, ‘Pull up’.

Frankly, we’d love to see a trade for Damian Lillard. After all, at this point, it’s pretty clear that this core just isn’t going to work. However, after seeing this barrage of tweets, at this point, we doubt it ever happens.
