“Damn, Shaquille O’Neal is ugly”: Charles Barkley hilariously roasts the Lakers legend on his appearance on NBAonTNT when talking about meeting Shaquille O’Neal for the first time

Charles Barkley apparently thought Shaquille O’Neal was ugly when he first met the Lakers legend, as he took to NBAonTNT to say this. 

The NBAonTNT crew has gotten up to a bevy of antics in the decades of air time they’ve received. Things really took a turn for the chaotic when Shaquille O’Neal joined forces with Charles Barkley, Ernie Johnson, and Kenny ‘the Jet’ Smith in the early 2010s.  

Ever since then, Shaq fighting with Chuck, Ernie telling them to calm down, and Kenny hilariously instigating more conflict between the two former MVPs has become a staple of what constitutes a regular day on the NBAonTNT set.

Last night was no different as a fairly innocent conversation revolving around Charles Barkley talking about freaks of nature in the NBA, saw ‘the Chuckster’ take shots at Shaquille O’neal out of nowhere. 

Charles Barkley claims he though Shaquille O’Neal was ugly when he first met him. 

While breaking down the halftime report for Game 3 between the Atlanta Hawks and the Milwaukee Bucks, Chuck went on a slight tangent to talk about freaks of natures in the NBA. This conversation, of course, stems from Giannis Antetokounmpo being a near 7-footer with guard-like vision and decent handles while also showcasing Shaq-like dominace. 

So, while listing out current and past superstars like Kevin Durant and Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley stopped mid-way and hilariously said, “First time I saw Shaq in person I said, ‘Damn he ugly’”.

This resulted in the 4 sharing a laugh and surprisingly enough, Shaq didn’t retaliate back at Chuck after these comments and took the roast on the chin. 

Now, beauty is a subjective matter to give your opinions on. The 4x champ has had 6 children so far so there’s clearly a person out there who finds him to be very attractive.
