Daryl Morey has been one of the NBA’s best executives since he entered the league. He’s now adding some flair, messing around with Stephen Curry.

Anyone who’s watched basketball with any kind of regularity in the past 8 years knows the name of Stephen Curry. It’s really hard not to, since he’s crowned himself universally as the greatest shooter of all time.
So complete is Steph’s domination of an art practice by hundreds of millions across the globe that there is no real debate about his status as the GOAT shooter – he’s that far ahead of everyone else.
The man has wowed us all once again with a stupendous 2020-21 season with the Warriors. It’s a real pity that the NBA playoff stage will not witness arguably its most in-form, game-changing talent this year.
Nevertheless, Sixers’ President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey wants to keep giving him the props that he deserves. But given his role as an executive in the league, there are certain actions that Morey is simply not allowed to do.
Daryl Morey mockingly recruits Stephen Curry, fined $75k
Steph had posted a picture of Seth from the Sixers’ first round series against the Wizards on Instagram. The caption on Steph’s picture says ‘Aye yo Seth Curry, you killed tonight?’
This was in reference to Seth’s irresistible shooting against the Wizards – the kind of form that the Sixers also need from his for the rest of the postseason.
Daryl Morey also took note of this post from Steph. In an attempt to conjure up another humorous internet moment, Daryl tweeted ‘Join em’ with a picture of Stephen Curry.

Unfortunately for Morey, the NBA considers this kind of public interaction between a player and an executive to be tampering. Morey was fined $75k for this ‘offense’, as were the Philadelphia 76ers.
Perhaps its a good thing in Morey’s books to be able to make a practical joke while also donating $75k to charity.
