Days After Shaquille O’Neal Discussed Tyrese Haliburton’s $260,000,000 Deal, Pacers Star Explains ‘Baby Shower’ Photos After Massive Contract Extension

Tyrese Haliburton was one of the breakout stars in the NBA last year. Playing for the Indiana Pacers, he averaged 21 points, 10 assists, and four rebounds per game. A great season to say the least, and one that saw him rewarded with a massive five-year, $260,000,000 contract extension. A huge deal, but one that was overshadowed by photos that came out of him celebrating what many believed to be a baby shower. Something he clarified was not the case in a recent appearance on Podcast P with Paul George.

A $260,000,000 contract is no laughing matter, and Haliburton is obviously ecstatic about receiving it. And, there are others who are happy to see his success. In fact, Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal had nothing but good things to say about the deal and was especially pleased that the 23-year-old could now afford to buy his mother a house.

Tyrese Haliburton clarifies that he did not have a baby shower days after signing $260,000,000 contract extension

The Indiana Pacers struck gold when they traded for Tyrese Haliburton. The young guard has been exceptional for them and looks like a future All-NBA player. So, after his performances in the 2022-2023 season, the Pacers decided to reward him, handing him a $260,000,000, five-year contract extension.

Understandably, Haliburton is over the moon. It’s his first major deal and one that has set him up for life. As such, with money in hand, he decided to celebrate. Fortunately for him, his girlfriend had everything set up for him. But, the party also led to quite a misunderstanding.

Haliburton’s girlfriend had set up balloons for the party and posted a story of the same on Instagram. And, internet trolls, being as they are pounced on the opportunity. A tweet went out suggesting that the Pacers guard was celebrating a baby shower, which sent the NBA world into a frenzy. So much so, that he had to clarify the situation, revealing that the balloons actually had “260” imprinted on it to commemorate his new deal.

“People was messing with me…cause my girl had got the balloon with set up in the backyard with the 260 mil on it. And she posted a picture on her story of it. And, somebody screenshotted it and put it on Twitter, they like, “Man! This dude celebrating a baby shower!”. Nah nah…my girl set it up for me!”

There can be no denying that Haliburton deserves every single penny of that $260,000,000. And, with all that money in hand, he plans on providing both for himself and his loved ones.

Haliburton plans on spending a fair chunk of money on watches

Tyrese Haliburton is still in shock after receiving his first max contract. But, he already has ideas of what he is going to spend his money on. While he doesn’t have any vices just yet, he does have his eye on some watches. And, with $260,000,000 in the bank, he can get all the expensive timepieces he wants.

It’s great to see Haliburton so excited about his new contract. However, now comes the hard part of living up to the deal. He has all the talent necessary. And, if he continues to play the way he has been, he’s sure to get an even bigger deal five years down the line.
