The Phoenix Suns made quick work of the NBA MVP Nikola Jokic and his Denver Nuggets. The series, which was much sought after, became a one-sided affair as Chris Paul displayed his brilliance throughout.
Chris Paul broke out his vintage self, and the 36-year-old made his mark felt on the series. Whenever the games got close, or the Nuggets tried to overtake the Suns, CP3 showed up and knocked clutch buckets. Devin Booker was his usual brilliant self and scored consistently throughout the series.
Along with CP3, there were a lot of key contributions from players like Deandre Ayton, Cam Payne, and others. Ayton, while being dominant in the paint, also had the key assignment of trying and shutting the league MVP out. He made things difficult for the MVP and did not let him get anything easy when he was on the floor.
Nikola Jokic sends Deandre Ayton his game jersey
All throughout the series, the matchup between Deandre Ayton and Nikola Jokic was fun to witness. The two bigs, both extremely talented, made things difficult for one another.
However, throughout, there was nothing but admiration for the other, as they were often spotted complimenting the other in the post-game pressers.
Even though Nikola Jokic was tossed from Game 4 of the series, he made sure to send Deandre Ayton his game-worn jersey. The jersey had a few words for the Suns’ big, along with Jokic’s signature. It read, “To my brother DA. You are beast. Keep up the good work. The Joker.”

It is wonderful to see that despite the emotions that circulated the game, Jokic did not shy from appreciating his opponent. The Ayton-Jokic matchup was a fun one for us to witness, and the two have nothing but respect for each other. It would be fun to see them lock horns in the future.
As for now, the Suns wait to face the winner of the Jazz-Clippers in the Western Conference Finals.
