Is Chris Paul Playing Tonight vs Nuggets? Suns Release Update on the 12x All-Star’s Groin Injury Ahead of Game 5

Another post-season and another injury to the 12x All-Star that keeps him out of a game that his team eventually lost. Chris Paul hurt his groin this time in Game 2 of the second round of Phoenix Suns vs. Denver Nuggets.

The Suns, who had the best odds to make it through the Western Conference, are now 0-2 in the conference semi-finals against Nikola Jokic and Co. And their Point God could not be there to help them because he has another post-season injury to deal with.

However, it looks like fans already knew it was coming.

NBA Twitter trolls Chris Paul for getting hurt in yet another Playoff

As Paul was fighting Nuggets guard KCP for a rebound on his own court, the 6ft tall point guard immediately held his groin area and walked out of the game, towards the locker room, with his team up 4 points and over four minutes remaining in 3rd quarter.

He didn’t come back to the game and the Suns lost the game 97-87 because of a second-half turnaround. It might not have been the same with CP3 on the court.

So, Paul became the target of the NBA Twitter yet again.

“Death. Taxes. Chris Paul hurt in playoffs,” wrote one user.

“Only 3 things guaranteed in this life. Death, taxes, & CP3 injury in the playoffs,” wrote another.

Some are doubtful about his injury, “I know Chris’ brittle a*s ain’t hurt again yo lol”

“Chris Paul gonna Chris Paul,” another user wrote on his CP3’s latest update.

Paul’s injury history in the postseason

Whenever there was the slightest chance for a CP3 team to win it all, Paul got an injury. It has happened at least in four other post-seasons excluding this latest one with the Suns.

The first time this point savant’s team was a contender, back in 2015, Paul’s hamstring injury cost the ‘Lob City’ team a place in Conference Finals against the eventual NBA champs, the Warriors. A match-up in which the Clippers would’ve been the favorites. They lost to the Rockets in the conference semi-finals after going 3-1 up.

His broken hand in the 2016 Playoffs brought an end to the Lob City for good. His hamstring in Game 5 cost the 2018 Rockets a Finals birth.

And we all might remember his troublesome shoulder that he injured against the Lakers in the first round of the 2021 playoffs and felt it until the Finals loss against the Bucks.

And after the Suns had lost to the Mavs last year in the Conference Semi-finals, there were reports about Paul suffering from a quad injury throughout that series.
