Lakers point guard Dennis Schroder has made his contract demands as he enters his free agency this offseason.
During the 2020-21 offseason, the LA Lakers acquired Schroder in exchange for Danny Green and draft rights with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The 27-year old averaged 15.4 PPG, 5.8 APG, and 1.1 SPG on a 43.7% shooting from the field during the regular season.
Earlier this year, Schroder was offered a contract extension worth 84 million up to 4-years. However, the German basketball player declined the offer stating that though he would want to be with the Lakers, he was looking for something that could provide him with the best situation.
Schroder paid the role of an anchor during LeBron and Anthony Davis’ absence of the Lakers franchise.
Schroder’s financial demand may lead to the LA Lakers not signing him for the future. Though there is no denying that the 27-year old is a promising talent, his recent attitude and exorbitant demands have brought him some wrath amongst a section of the Laker Nation.

Dennis Schroder’s unrealistic demands might lead to his ouster from LA
The defending champions had a disappointing end to their 2020-21 NBA season as they were eliminated in the first round of the 2021 NBA Playoffs.
Though, the Lakers superstar duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis was still recovering from the injuries they sustained during the regular season. The supporting cast of the Lakers added to their woes by underperforming during the post-season.
Schroder, who was supposed to be lead the supporting cast of the Lakers, was extremely inefficient from the field.
The Lakers point guard averaged 14.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 6 games they played in the post-season.
Schroder had a horrendous performance during games four and five of the first round of the 2021 NBA Playoffs. The German native had a dismal 8-points in Game Four in the 32 minutes he played and shot 23.1% from the field. This was followed by the worst performance of his career, as he had zero points in Game Five and was a -17.
Schroder’s demands seem inconsistent with his performances. There were reports that he had removed his designation of Lakers PG from his bio on social media and that there were rumors of tensions between him and NBA superstar LeBron James.
