“Dennis Schroder had his best Lakers game today”: Frank Vogel heaps praise on the German guard for his performance tonight against Luka Doncic and his Mavericks
Lakers Head Coach Frank Vogel is nothing but praise for Dennis Schroder after his performance against the Dallas Mavericks
The Los Angeles Lakers lost two games in a row for the first time since March 23rd. Despite lacking both their star players, the Los Angeles Lakers were doing a good job of keeping their head over the .500 line in this timeframe. Anthony Davis made his return tonight, as the Lakers lost a hard-fought game against Luka Doncic and his Mavericks.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Dennis Schroder were the stars for the Lakers in the 115-110 loss. KCP registered 29 points, shooting 6/12 from 3s. Schroder recorded 25 points and 13 assists while shooting a very efficient 9/13 from the field.
However, it wasn’t enough to stop Luka Doncic and co. Luka led the way with his 30 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists. The Mavs had seven different players in double digits, including all 5 starters, to take down the defending champions.
Frank Vogel calls tonight’s performance the best Dennis Schroder has performed for the Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers traded for Dennis Schroder in the offseason. However, he wasn’t able to show his true point game, with LeBron James taking over the decision-making at most times.
With both stars being out, Schroder has been a major reason the Lakers have not been piling up the losses. In the post-game interview, Head Coach Frank Vogel made sure to compliment Schroder on his performance, despite the Lakers registering a loss.
Frank Vogel said tonight may have been Dennis Schroder’s best game as a Laker, citing his 25 points and 13 assists, plus his defending Luka for much of the game. Said he thinks it bodes well that he seems to rise to the occasion in more high profile games.

The Lakers face the Mavericks yet again on Saturday night to finish their season series. The Mavs would look to sweep the defending champions and improve to the 6th spot in the West, while the Lakers would avoid losing three games in a row.
