What does Derrick Jones Jr getting the coronavirus mean for Miami Heat?
Although the latest rumours suggests that soon-to-be free agent Derrick is still expected to travel to Orlando, it does not seems to be the safe option considering the vast consequences of the pandemic. This might add to the ever growing players infected with coronavirus and the lack of availability of Derrick will affect the Heats who are currently 4th on the eastern conference standings.
When can Derrick Jones Jr travel to Orlando?
In order to make it to the NBA Bubble in Orlando, Derrick Jones Jr will have to quarantine himself for a period of 14 days and then test negative twice for the coronavirus.
Only post that, can he join his team in Orlando, and hope to take the Heat deep into the playoffs this season.
Derrick Jones Jr., according to the source familiar with his test result, is asymptomatic. Such a timetable still could have him back available to travel with Heat for their projected July 9 team bus trip to Disney for preparation to play in NBA “bubble.” https://t.co/qy0JzF3OLr

What next for the NBA?
With a bunch of players testing positive in the last 24 hours and cases being on the rise in Florida, Adam Silver and co. are facing a lot of backlash with respect to the season restart.
If the trend continues, the NBA will be left with only two choices; either relocating to a safer place or cancelling the season altogether.
