Did Dwyane Wade Buy a New House Recently? A Look at The Heat Legend's Properties

As a multimillionaire former NBA superstar, Dwyane Wade owns multiple properties that he calls home. However, he hasn’t publicized the purchase of any new house recently.

Wade spent the majority of his NBA career playing for the Miami Heat – 14.5 of his 16 full seasons. The Chicago native lived in one of the plushest, most unique houses in the area during his playing days.

Since his retirement, Wade has primarily been located in Los Angeles, leading him to put his beloved Miami abode for sale. He did spend millions on refurbishing his house – especially on a basketball court. As a result, he reaped a rich $22 million return on its sale.

Does Dwyane Wade own a house in Chicago or Salt Lake City?

Wade was born and grew up on the South Side of Chicago – a notoriously crime-ridden locality. Much of his childhood was affected due to his mother’s on-and-off addiction to drugs. He was no stranger to her run-ins with the law of the land.

However, although Wade still has a warm regard for his hometown, he didn’t buy a home there when he signed with the Bulls as a free agent in 2016. He rented a Gold Coast house on North Parkway for a year before bolting for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Wade bought into the Utah Jazz ownership group a couple of years as a minority partner. This led to speculation about whether he’d actually move to Salt Lake City. However, there is no public record of Wade buying a home there either.

D-Wade once owned a house in Los Angeles

Given his wife’s Hollywood involvement, it was but natural for the Wades to have a home in Los Angeles. Wade and Gabrielle Union purchased a home in 2018 in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood. The reported price of the property was around $5.9 million.

After their subsequent purchase of a house in Hidden Hills for $17.9 million, Wade listed this property for sale. It went on the market at a final price of $5.5 million.

His current abode in the San Fernando neighborhood is truly a sight to behold.
