NBA fans have already begun showing some of their worst behavior during the 2021 playoffs. New York and Philadelphia have both been guilty of some foul behavior through their fans. A Philly fan poured popcorn on Russell Westbrook while the Wizards star walked off the court, injured.
ohhhhh, this is TRULY garbage. https://t.co/D3GLiekf9q

LeBron James and Metta World Peace have taken to social media to express their disgruntled feelings regarding such terrible behavior by fans. They aren’t the only ones feeling horrible with this treatment of any sportsperson.
Knicks fans have made Trae Young Public Enemy Number 1 for the upcoming weeks as the Hawks try to beat them in the playoffs. This has led to rising levels of vitriol and fan misbehavior at Madison Square Garden as well.
Did a Knicks fan spit on Trae Young?
In the midst of this heated environment, we also see some footage of some spit landing on Trae Young as he stood outside the sidelines with his back turned. The Hawks star didn’t appear to notice it at the time. But somebody caught it on camera and put it on social media.
Not quite as clear what happened here, but might be even more garbage that happened tonight. https://t.co/b3iMqvRm0J

If you took notice of the first few seconds, you can see how something lands on Trae’s back before the clip cuts to Derrick Rose. People are still investigating footage from the rest of the game to look for more examples of fan misbehavior.
Knicks fans did their best to rattle the youngster. It came to a point where they were chanting ‘F*** Trae Young’ every time he touched the ball. They even made fun of his hairline and called him bald as he shot free throws.
Trae seems to be relishing all of the sports hate coming this way, being the trash talker that he is. Still, it’s a matter of concern if the vitriol has gotten to a point where fans are spitting on players.
