“Draymond Green, SHOOT THE BALL”: Warriors’ DPOY recounts when Stephen Curry has gotten into shouting matches with him
The equation between Draymond Green and Stephen Curry has always been great, but the former reveals that Steph can get incandescent sometimes.
Draymond is among the biggest mean-muggers in the NBA today. He has an authoritative quality about him that makes his teammates fall in line automatically.
It’s not so much an air of superiority as it is an aura of Draymond being a great basketball brain. His teammates wouldn’t stand for his behaviour if he wasn’t so good at reading the game, and Dray knows this.
Sometimes, Dray knows that he can overstep his bounds. These are the times when you expect the seniormost Warrior in Steph to step in and mediate. Draymond revealed a couple of those instances to the press today.
Draymond Green recalls 2 instances when Stephen Curry has shouted at him
According to Green, Steph often does shout at his teammates the way he did yesterday. Steph probably couldn’t take how they succumbed to the offensive pressure applied by the Clippers in their blowout loss.
He went at his teammates on the way back from the locker room to the arena. Draymond says there were at least two more occasions when Steph got into a bad temper and screamed at his teammates:
“The frustration was about we were playing soft defensively. We had spoken about getting to the ball and turning up the pressure and we weren’t doing that.”
Draymond Green details the times Steph Curry has yelled at him
-“Shooting the ball. SHOOT THE BALL!”
-“Remember when I got into with Steve (in OKC)? He yelled at me right then, too. He was sitting right next to me and stood up and yelled at me.” pic.twitter.com/bQBWYDiFZx— Anthony Slater (@anthonyVslater) March 13, 2021
“Steph has yelled at me a few times. It was about shooting the ball, as a matter of fact. Like, shoot the ball! Little different from the words I use. But yeah, he’s yelled at me before. For sure.”
“Remember the time I got into it with Steve [Kerr] in [Oklahoma]? [Steph] was sitting right next to me. He stood over me and started yelling at me. He’s yelled at me several times. Don’t try and be fooled by Steph. He does yell at me.”
