“Bryn Forbes? No, I’m the best shooter I’ve played with”: Giannis Antetokounmpo jokes about his new Bucks teammate after win over the Knicks
Giannis Antetokounmpo turned a question about Bryn Forbes and his elite shooting into an elite joke about his own skills.
The Milwaukee Bucks have recovered well from a losing streak they encountered in February. They’re now solidly in 3rd place in the East with a 23-14 record, 4 games ahead of Boston in 4th place.
Giannis himself has turned his performances up a notch. However, it is his supporting cast that has led this upward trend in the standings. The likes of Bobby Portis, Bryn Forbes and Donte DiVincenzo have raised their performances.
Jrue Holiday’s return to action has also served as a shot in the arm for the ascending Bucks. Milwaukee is now only 2 games behind Philadelphia 76ers, the Eastern Conference leaders.
Giannis was in a pretty good mood after the Bucks dismantled the surging Knicks at the Fiserv Forum last night. He gave us yet another soundbite to laugh about.
Giannis Antetokounmpo deflects a question about Bryn Forbes and his elite shooting
After a rather ordinary start to the season, Bryn Forbes has been on fire of late. He made all 7 of his 3-point attempts last night, and was the main reason the Bucks triumphed so easily. He set a franchise record for most 3-point makes in a game without missing.
Reporters obviously posed questions about Forbes’ shooting, asking Giannis whether he’s the best shooter to have played alongside him. Giannis said:
“No, he’s not. I am.”
Reporter: Is Bryn the best shooter you’ve played with?
Giannis: No, no he’s not. I am.

Forbes is well on his way to the best shooting season of his career. He’s been averaging an absolutely bonkers 48+% on 3-pointers since the turn of the year. His shooting looks quite sustainable given how many open looks Giannis generates on a nightly basis.
