"Got Me Out of My Seat": Having Attended WNBA Finals Game 1, LeBron James Emphatically Praises Marine Johannes

LA Lakers’ LeBron James was recently spotted at Game 1 of the WNBA Finals between the New York Liberty and LA Aces. He appears intent on supporting the WNBA as well. James has recently spoken about a range of WNBA players and was spotted wearing a light brown hat during the first match. Now, within 24 hours of his appearance, he took to X (formerly Twitter) in order to praise the Liberty’s Marine Johannes, who produced 14 points and 3 rebounds despite ending up on the losing side.

Johannes had started the game in utter style and produced 4 3-pointers in the first half. Her shooting resulted in a post from X user Teg, who claimed that all 4 of the shots were extremely difficult.

The 38-year-old James was apparently left impressed as well. He complimented Marine’s shooting and talked specifically about one of the shots:

“She got a CANNON!!!! The 1 leg going left got me out my seat!! 🔥🔥🔥”

While James seemingly had the time of his life, his response to the tweet alone generated further buzz and excitement for the WNBA Finals. While the Liberty ended up losing, they showed enough flashes during the game to keep fans hopeful of a comeback.

Of course, the attention from NBA athletes such as LeBron James is, in truth, great publicity for the WNBA league. The fact that James himself was in attendance is bound to be a further catalyst for the league.

As expected, the LA Aces pulled off a comfortable victory after Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young both scored a game-high 26 points. A’Ja Wilson produced 19 points and 8 rebounds to make for a comfortable day for the Liberty.

At the same time, the Liberty saw their star woman Breanna Stewart score 21 points and have 9 rebounds. She was well-supported by Jonquel Jones, who finished with a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds.

That was of course in addition to Marine’s cameo. She could not get going in the 2nd half and finished with 14 points despite scoring 4 3-pointers in the first. The Aces might have gone ahead but the Liberty had plenty of moments of their own.

What’s more, they were leading until halftime and ended up going behind after a poor second half. Both Quarters 3 and 4 led to the Aces increasing their lead by 10 points. Regardless, as things stand, fans will be expecting Breanna Stewart to take charge in the upcoming games.
