When someone from the press asked Steph to pick three stars for his fantasy WNBA expansion team, Chef Curry chose the current finalists, A’Ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, and Sabrina Inuesco. Excitedly relaying his response, Curry said:

“Obviously A’Ja. A’Ja [Wilson], Stewie [Breanna Stewart] and I would probably take Sabrina [Ionescu]. Those three are a solid trio. There you go. We’ll see all three of them this weekend. So, easy, easy picks.”

The solid trio that Steph is talking about are finalists of the much-awaited WNBA Finals, starting October 8. A’Ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces will be looking to defend their title as 2022 NBA champions, while the New York Liberty, led by MVP Breanna Stewart and star point guard Sabrina Ionescu, will be vying to win their first WNBA title after this series.

Surely, this competition would be an exciting one between arch-WNBA rivals, with A’Ja Wilson fully determined to avenge her MVP snub against Breanna Stewart. And of course, we can definitely expect WNBA superfan Stephen Curry to be present in the stands, cheering his favorite players.

Stephen Curry has a name in the plan for the Bay Area’s WNBA expansion team

The WNBA is witnessing its most-viewed season this year, with excitement over the board after announcing a new expansion team. The league recently added a new San Francisco Bay area expansion team, which is expected to take the floor in 2025.

When Curry was asked for a name for this new Bay Area WNBA team, he quickly answered with a witty response, immediately relating the team to the Golden State franchise. Chef Curry is hopeful that his godsister Cameron Brink will be drafted into the upcoming Bay Area team in the near future.

Brink plays for Stanford University’s women’s basketball team, recently leading the team to an NCAA championship in 2021. As far as the name of the new franchise is concerned, the Warriors CEO Joe Lacob promised the press to relay a decision soon.
