Hall of Famer Tony Parker, Who Got Caught in Drake-Chris Brown Fight About Rihanna, Sued NY Nightclub For $20 Million
Tony Parker is one of the top players in NBA history. The French guard was drafted 28th overall in the 2001 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs. And, what a storied career he has had.
Parker nicknamed the Parisian Torpedo spent 18 seasons in the NBA, playing for both the Spurs and the Charlotte Hornets. However, it is his time in San Antonio that is fondly remembered. The man won four NBA Championships with the Spurs and even had his No.9 jersey retired by the organization.
Now, he is all set to further cement his legacy in basketball history. After all, he will join the 2023 class of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. But, while we do look back at his career with awe, while it was amazing, it had its fair share of problems as well. Like the time he sued a New York City nightclub after he got caught in the middle of a fight between Drake and Chris Brown.
Tony Parker once sued a nightclub after he was hurt during a fight between Chris Brown and Drake
In 2012, the music world was rocked by the news of the reported beef between Chris Brown and Drake. The two reportedly had a fight in a New York City nightclub. The fight, which took place in W.i.P club in SoHo caused quite a ruckus, and it was all about Rihanna.
Drake who was likely dating Rihanna at the time decided to prevent Brown and his entourage from leaving the club. A fight ensued, and by the time the police arrived Brown, his girlfriend, and his bodyguard was among eight injured following the incident.
However, while the fight was between the two hip-hop greats, there was another celebrity who was unintentionally involved. Former NBA superstar Tony Parker was injured in the fight. The Spurs star just so happened to be in the club and was left livid following the incident. This resulted in a $20 million lawsuit, that Tony filed over a scratched cornea.
It was quite a severe injury. One that required surgery after a piece of glass thrown during the fight deeply penetrated his eye. Luckily, it did not affect his playing career, and the club in question closed down shortly after.
Parker is no stranger to throwing around $20 million lawsuits
Tony Parker’s legal battles were not restricted to a nightclub in New York City. But, this isn’t the first time the six-time All-Star has threatened with a lawsuit. Back in 2007, when he was still married to Eva Longoria rumors started floating around about his infidelity. Well, he responded by suing the website that first reported for $20 million.

X17online.com the website in question immediately retracted the article and issued an apology. Four years later, both Longoria and Parker finalized a divorce, with Longoria citing his numerous affairs as the primary reason. Talk about irony.
