Hours After Declaring LeBron James as Example, Zion Williamson Gets Analyst’s Backing: “Going to Be One of the 10 Best Players”
Zion Williamson was the No.1 overall pick back in 2019. Hailed as the next face of the league, many had high expectations for Zion, and despite his inconsistency, there are still those who believe the New Orleans Pelicans star can be one of the best in the league. FS1 analyst Nick Wright is one of those people.
Weight has always been a concern for Williamson, ever since he joined the league. His hefty frame makes him more injury-prone. That, coupled with his poor diet has contributed to his rather disappointing career thus far. However, he is intent on turning things around and plans on looking to LeBron James for inspiration.
FS1 analyst Nick Wright believes Zion Williamson can be a top 10 player in the NBA
Back in 2019, Zion Williamson was dubbed as one of the greatest prospects in NBA history. The Duke University star wowed crowds on the NCAA scene, and it was the same case in the NBA. However, he has struggled with injuries. The New Orleans Pelicans star has only played 114 games since joining the league.
Now, four years on and a slew of controversies surrounding him, many are starting to wonder if he will be the NBA’s next big bust. However, Zion is still young and still has time to improve. And, hours after confirming that he will now look to LeBron James as an example, he received some resounding support.
FS1 analyst, Nick Wright gave his two cents on Williamson’s current situation. He believes that while injuries are a concern, Zion still has the potential to be one of the best in the league. All that is required is to see him in action for at least 70 games in a season.
“If we get 70 games of Zion Williamson, he is going to be one of the 10 best players in the league.”

Zion undoubtedly has the talent to succeed in this league. In the 114 games he has played so far, he has averaged around 26 points, seven rebounds, and four assists per game. He certainly could become a top-10 player as Nick Wright believes.
Going beyond numbers, Williamson’s size and strength make him a difficult post player; both on offense and defense. When combined with his freakish athletic ability and decision-making, a healthy Zion spells certain doom for the league. The Pelicans always look a better team with him on the court than off it, and they desperately need him to return to good health soon.
If all goes well, Zion should be back in action for next season. And, if he does start taking care of himself and gets more games in, there is no reason why he can’t establish himself as one of the best in the world.
