Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets have been blazing hot since the end of November up until now. They have recorded an incredible 17-2 record in those 19 games that began in November 27th win over the Portland Trailblazers. Most recently, they bested a Zion Williamson-less New Orleans Pelicans squad in a 108-102 victory.

Both Irving and Kevin Durant have been nothing short of spectacular on the offensive end of the floor during this stretch of games. Despite all the drama regarding KD wanting out and Irving with his antisemitism row, the Nets seem to be back on track as they look like they can contend for a championship.
In the aforementioned stretch of games, Kyrie has been putting up 26.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5 assists a game all while shooting 49.7% from the field. Durant has been even more impressive as he’s been putting up 30.9/6.9/5.4 in that same stretch. He’s also inserted himself into the top 3 for MVP this season.
Kyrie Irving rejoices at finally making a shot
Kyrie Irving was uncharacteristically cold in the Brooklyn Nets’ win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Every superstar has an off night once in a while and tonight’s was Irving’s as he shot 7-22 from the field for 31.9%.
Towards the end of the game however, with the Nets only up by 3 points and under 50s left in regulation, Irving rained in a deep contested 3 to put the Nets up by 6 and for good. He even had a nifty floater prior to this shot of his.
Seems as though he just needed to see the ball go through the net to drop in that dagger 3. after the shot, according to Nick Friedell, Irving yelled out, ‘I finally made a shot!’ in the midst of their win.

Kyrie Irving admits that he’s grown since last year
Kyrie Irving, following the impressive win, talked about how he felt after seeing his shots go in-and-out in the 4th quarter.
“You look back a year ago and I can admit this about myself – I probably would’ve been pissed. I probably would’ve been mentally out of it, just not making enough shots for us to get over the hump. Our growth as a team is seeing the leaders on our team be poised”

This was quite the sloppy game from the Nets in terms of just not having their shot fall down. KD was no better as he shot 9-26 from the field. Yet BKN still survived due to their resolve and commitment to the defensive end of the floor.
