The 2020-2021 NBA season has come to an end. It is Giannis Antetokounmpo and his Milwaukee Bucks team who fought through all the difficulties and adversities during this special season to lift the prestigious Larry O’Brien trophy.
Despite being down 0-2 in the finals against the Phoenix Suns, the Bucks ended up winning four consecutive games, to win the title at their home court after a 108-95 Game 6 win. The Greek Freak led the team from the front, recording a 50-point and 14-rebounds double-double to go along with five crucial blocks, mounting a successful comeback.
After suffering early playoffs exit over the past few years, Giannis has finally led his team all the way and over the line. Averaging an outstanding 35.2 points, 13.2 rebounds and 5 assists during the finals, the 5-time All-Star was the sure-shot recipient for the Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP trophy.

Every year, legend and 11-time champion Bill Russell is present at the NBA Finals to honour the Finals MVP with the esteemed trophy. However, because of the COVID-19 virus, Bill was unable to present Giannis with his award this year.

Clearly, the celebrations for Giannis and the whole of Milwaukee started as soon as the final buzzer of Game 6 went off. And honestly, why won’t they? The Bucks have won a pretty difficult championship after a difficult seven month-long season, with hectic schedules, amid all the rigid health and safety protocols. Definitely, Giannis, who is still 26-years-old, has stormed his way into everyone’s “top-15” or “top-20” players list of all-time.
