Pelicans’ star Zion Williamson reveals why out of all the players in NBA History, he wishes to dunk on Warriors’ legend Wilt Chamberlain

Without any doubt, Zion Williamson is one of the future faces of the league. Only a few elite players, in the entire NBA history, have achieved what the 20-year-old prodigy has been able to pull off so far in his young career. Despite having the media hype and the added pressure of being the “next LeBron James”, Williamson has constantly been proving all his doubters wrong.

In only his second NBA season, Zion looks like one of the best players in the league. Being the 280-pound beast he is, Williamson is a bully in the paint. He leads the league in points scored in the paint. Out of the insanely deadly offensive arsenal the southpaw has are his dunks. They certainly are jaw-dropping.

‘If I could, I would dunk on Wilt Chamberlain’: Zion Williamson

In a recent interview with analyst Shannon Sharpe, Zion was asked if he could dunk on anybody, from the past or present, who would the person be. The 20-year-old All-Star answered:

“Man, I don’t know, man. I would say… if I had to pick – I would say, Wilt Chamberlain. If I had that one on my resume, that’s a big one.”

Zion Williamson has had quite a few stunning dunks in his highlight reel. Right from his high school days, Williamson has dunked over several players. However, the legend Wilt Chamberlain, a 7-foot-1 barbarian, was an incredible shot blocker. As one would assume, it would have been impossible for a 6-foot-8 Zion to dunk over Wilt.

Zion is having himself a terrific season so far. The Pelicans forward has been averaging a staggering 27 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game on 61.7% shooting. In order for NOLA to make a playoff push, Zion Williamson will have to unleash his best game possible along with the help of the remaining Pelicans.
