J Cole made his professional debut in the Basketball Africa League today, and hip-hop and basketball fans can’t stop talking about it.

They say every rapper grows up with the regret of not being a basketball player. They also say pretty much the converse for basketball players – apparently basketball players wanna be rappers too!
Well, it’s much tougher for a rapper to cross over to professional sports than the other way round. But J Cole wasn’t the type to let these facts get him down on his path. The North Carolina-based rapper had dreamt about being a baller all his life, and he’s achieved it.
Cole debuted today for Basketball Africa League’s Patriots BC, a Rwanda-based basketball club. At the age of 36, Cole certainly didn’t expect to be a top scorer in a pro basketball league. His numbers pretty much reflect that.

NBA Fans react to J Cole, joke about LeBron James
Now, you can’t blame tons of basketball fans for thinking they’d have performed better than Cole in a pro league. Many of us are prone to overrating our own talents in the game, underestimating that of others.
That seems to pretty much be the spirit of most NBA fans reacting to J Cole’s professional debut today. The SportsCenter post is now overrun by those reactions.

Overall, it was pretty much the comment section you could envision it becoming. It’s not unnatural for fans to be a bit jealous of Cole for being in the position that he is.
