The Los Angeles Lakers are in a tough spot this season. After having a strong start to the season, the Lakers were in the #2 spot in the West when LeBron James got injured. Since then the defending champions had fallen down to the 7th spot.
They currently are in the 6th spot. However, the gap between them and the 7th seeded Blazers is just 0.015 games behind them. Even though LeBron James made his way back to the court and played two games, he did not look 100%.
The Lakers since then ruled LBJ out for two games, citing ankle soreness as the reason. The Lakers would use this time to get the best possible care for LeBron and his ankle and try to get him to his best possible shape before the upcoming playoffs.
LeBron James is the life and soul of this year’s Lakers team. They would need him ready and suited up if they want this postseason to be a long one.
Shannon Sharpe talks about LeBron James sitting out the next two games
According to Shannon Sharpe, when LeBron James played those two games recently, he realized something is not right. He felt that he wasn’t in a shape where he can contribute the way his team needs him to. Sharpe then went to explain how ankle injuries can affect the careers of athletes of any sport, taking an example of an NFL running back.
Sharpe harped on the fact that without LeBron the Lakers have no postseason. It does not matter what their seeding is, if they don’t have a healthy LeBron James, they cant win.
.@ShannonSharpe on LeBron reportedly sitting out the next 2 games:
“This tells me that LeBron is nowhere near 100%. He realized that he’s not helping the Lakers at the level in which he’s out there. If he’s not healthy, the Lakers have no chance.” pic.twitter.com/Hk8JgaoM8m

Hopefully, this week of rest can help LeBron James a little and he can come back stronger. No playoffs feel complete without LeBron James competing for the title.
