It is an understatement to say that the Phoenix Suns have been the most surprising team this year. The team, which has been considered a lottery team for quite a few years now, has recently clinched a playoff spot for the first time in 10 years. Nobody would’ve picked this team to have more wins than the Lakers, Clippers or Nuggets.
On Wednesday night, following their huge 109-101 win over the Los Angeles Clippers, the Suns became just the second team in the West to secure a playoff berth.
Devin Booker has been a prolific scorer as soon as he entered the league as an 18-year-old. After a few All-Star snubs, the combo guard is now one of the best two guards in the league. He has been showing constant improvements year after year, finally resulting in a playoff berth.

“I’m grateful that Devin Booker trusted me to come and play alongside him”: Chris Paul
This past offseason, the 35-year-old Chris Paul decided to team up with Booker to help him lead the team. With Paul on the team, Booker has found himself a mentor he can rely on both – on and off the court.
There was no doubt that a 15-year veteran like Chris Paul wouldn’t bring out the best of his entire team. Clearly, he was very proud of Booker for his first postseason and was the first one to congratulate Devin for his upcoming playoffs debut. Paul congratulated Booker:
“I’m happy for him cause he deserves it. Sometimes in this league, the casual fan don’t get a chance to appreciate somebody’s greatness and Devin is a guy who’s been doing it on a nightly basis. I’m just happy that the world is finally getting to see him.”
“I’m grateful that he trusted me to come here and play alongside him. Our team won’t be where we are without him and his willingness to fight every day and his selflessness.”

With only 10 games left in their postseason, the Suns would definitely lookout to finish the season strong. They would love to make a late push to clinch that number 1 seed in the Western Conference. Nevertheless, Devin Booker and his Suns team should be extremely proud of their recent success.
