The Brooklyn Nets have climbed to the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. After a slow start to their season, the Nets have won eight of their last nine games. Their leader and star, Kevin Durant, is the biggest reason behind their success.

It feels as if KD’s comments about his teammates during the Bleacher Report interview actually helped the team rally their troops. The Nets would like to use their momentum and finish their road trips with wins against the Raptors and the Pistons.
At the same time, KD has been busy with his media venture, Boardroom.
Kevin Durant explains the logic behind ‘Slim Reaper’
Any good player in the NBA ends up earning a lot of nicknames over the years. For Michael Jordan, it was His Airness, Black Cat, Air Jordan, and more. Shaq had a ton of nicknames like Big Diesel, Big Aristotle, Shaq Fu, and a lot more.
Kevin Durant has quite a few nicknames as well. Be it KD, Slim Reaper, Durantula, or more. In a recent QnA session, Durant explains the logic behind his nickname Slim Reaper.
“Because I’m skinny and I do my work at night.”

KD was given the nickname during his MVP season back in 2013-14. At that time, KD wasn’t too fond of Slim Reaper and instead preferred KD over the same. However, the Nets star seemed to have grown to like the nickname in 2021, and has been embracing the same.
How far can the Nets go this season?
Ever since KD and Kyrie made their way to Brooklyn, the Nets have won just one playoff series. However, with the way KD and the Nets bench have been playing, they would hope they change the narrative this year.
As always, the health and availability of the players would be a big factor that would decide how far the Nets go. However, with the way KD is playing, if he continues to lead the team this way, he can probably win his 2nd MVP this year.
