"Instead of clutch, LeBron James is now crutch": Skip Bayless takes a dig at the Lakers' star for building a narrative around his injury

Co-host of the Undefeated Skip Bayless calls out LeBron James and the Lakers for ‘planting an excuse’ regarding his ankle

The Los Angeles Lakers are all set to start their title defense on Sunday. They are making their way to Pheonix, Arizona, where they would take on the #2 seeded Suns. After a tough season full of injuries, it is time for the Lakers to leave all of that in the past and focus on only one thing. Getting banner #18 up in the Staples Center. However, the path to the same would not be easy for the defending champions.

Recently Marc J Spears of ESPN had claimed LeBron James is playing on one leg. Although LeBron disputed it and said he was good, he sure does not look 100%. Despite the depth of the Lakers bench and the kind of players they have, without a healthy LBJ, the chances of them defending their title are little to none.

Skip Bayless calls out LeBron James for planting an excuse

It is no secret that Skip Bayless is not a LeBron James fan. While others fawn over things LeBron does, Skip ‘sees through the bullsh*t’. After the narrative came out the LeBron is ‘playing on one leg’, Skip took no time to use it as a chance to pounce on the 4x MVP.

According to Skip, the entire narrative is being built up to make LBJ look greater in the eyes of fans. If the Lakers lose, it can always be blamed on the injury. However, if they win, LeBron would be hero-ed for how he led the team while ‘playing on one leg’.

For now, all one can do is wait and watch how the King performs in the first-round series against the Suns. His health during the series would determine the way the playoffs turn out for the Lakers.
