With Anthony Davis out in the last two games, the Lakers have unconvincingly fought to keep their win-loss record the same. In the first game without AD, the Lakers defeated the ‘messy’ Wizards on their home court. However, in their most recent game, the gold and purple seemed messier than even the Wizards.

The thrashing at the hands of Phoenix Suns is fresh in their memory. However, with the record now at 13 wins and 17 losses, the Lakers can only afford a few more defeats if they want to ensure a spot in the playoffs.
But it won’t be easy to win their next game against Sacramento. Especially with Anthony Davis injured and possibly out for another month.
The Lakers will dearly miss Anthony Davis
Anthony Davis is a superstar. His absence is a sharp blow to the already struggling Lakers. The injury he suffered in the game against the Denver Nuggets has effectively put him out of action for at least a month. Until now, the diagnosis is that AD is coping with a right foot injury.
Lakers injury update for tomorrow’s game in Sacramento:
— LeBron James (left ankle soreness) is probable
— Russell Westbrook (left foot soreness) is questionable
— Austin Reaves (right ankle sprain) is doubtful
— Anthony Davis and Juan Toscano-Anderson are out— Jovan Buha (@jovanbuha) December 21, 2022
Thankfully, it isn’t a fracture or anything serious. Unfortunately, the Lakers are an inadequate squad without him. He was, after all, having an exceptional season right until the injury suffered against the Nuggets.
The 8-time All-Star is averaging 27 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game. LeBron James and Co. will miss Davis a lot on the offensive end. However, on the defensive end, he is an irreplaceable key. Anthony Davis is brilliant at rim protection and post-up defense. A key the Lakers will not use until he heals completely.
