Is Anthony Davis playing tonight vs Mavericks? Lakers release injury report for star forward ahead of Christmas Day game vs Luka Doncic and co

Will Anthony Davis suit up for the Los Angeles Lakers against the Dallas Mavericks? He is dealing with a calf contusion.

The much anticipated slew of Christmas Day games will be well underway, starting off with Zion and the Pelicans taking on the defending Eastern Conference Champs, the Miami Heat.

Perhaps the most talked about game would be the bout between Luka Doncic and his Dallas Mavericks taking on the defending champs, the Los Angeles Lakers.

This is the last game on the jam-packed Christmas Day schedule. However, for this game to be as entertaining as it can be, the superstars would have to lace up for the night.

It is being reported that Anthony Davis’s availability for tonight’s game isn’t 100% confirmed.

Anthony Davis has a right calf contusion

Anthony Davis is reportedly powering through a right calf contusion. It is unknown when the Lakers big man suffered this injury, but he is apparently feeling fine. He is currently on the injury list with his status being listed as probable. He will most likely be suiting up for the Lakers.

This isn’t the first time Davis has dealt with a right calf injury. Back in February, the DPOY candidate had a bruised right calf, but still decided to play through it.

AD’s performance against the Clippers on opening night

The Los Angeles Lakers had their ring ceremony night ruined as the Clippers marched into Staples Center and beat the defending champs by 7. Davis had a mediocre night as he did shoot over 50% from the field, but notched merely 18 points and 7 rebounds.

This shouldn’t be any cause for concern however as it is the first time the Lakers have played meaningful basketball since their active offseason.
