Is Giannis Antetokounmpo Playing Tonight Vs Wizards? Bucks Release Injury Report for 2x MVP

The Milwaukee Bucks suffered a loss on New Year’s Day as they lost a home game to the Washington Wizards. Playing without Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks couldn’t find enough offense to hold off the Wizards and lost the contest 118-95.

The entire Bucks Big 3 was missing that night. Giannis was out with left knee soreness. Khris Middleton is still not back from his knee injury. Jrue Holiday was sick(non-COVID illness). Despite their best efforts, Bobby Portis and co were not enough to hold off the double attack of Rui Hachimura and Kristaps Porzinigis.

With the Wizards still in town for round 2, the fans wonder whether Giannis Antetokounmpo would suit up tonight and help the Bucks achieve a different result.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as probable for tonight’s matchup

Having suffered a knee injury recently, Giannis missed the first game of the new year. It was the sixth game of the season he’d missed. The Bucks clearly felt lost without their leader on the floor to guide the way for them.

Well, tonight’s injury report wouldn’t be too positive for the Bucks fans as well. Even though he’s not been listed as out, Giannis Antetokounmpo has been listed as PROBABLE for tonight’s game.

Head Coach Mike Budenholzer shared that Giannis did practice with the team, which is encouraging.

It’s not sure whether the 2x MVP would play tonight or not. However, Milwaukee would like to err on the side of caution. They do not want their superstar to risk anything for a regular-season game.

How has Giannis been doing this season?

To keep it simple, Giannis has been doing Giannis things this season, yet again. He’s been absolutely brilliant, and has been holding the fort down while Khris Middleton returns from his injury.

So far this season, Antetokounmpo has been averaging 32.1 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 5.2 assists. Last week, he was on top of the MVP ladder, but due to the recent surges, this week, he’s fallen down to the 5th spot.

With a lot of time left in the season, the 2x MVP has ample time to make his MVP case.
