The Brooklyn Nets debuted their big 3 yesterday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Unfortunately, the debut didn’t go quite like they would have wanted it to. The Nets fell short 147-135 to a young Cavs team, led by the 3rd year guard Collin Sexton.
In the Double OT thriller, KD played 50 whole minutes while scoring a team-high 38 points, but apparently, that just wasn’t enough. This was the first time since May of 2019 that KD had recorded so many minutes. It was also the first time he played so many minutes since making his Achilles recovery.
Kevin Durant listed as questionable, reason cited as Achilles injury recovery
As the Nets prepare to take on the Cavs for the second straight game, they might rest a key player tonight. Kevin Durant, the team’s leader in points per game, might sit out tonight’s game.
KD is making his return to basketball this season, after being out for 18 months due to a torn Achilles. He played 50 whole minutes on Wednesday. While most people ease back into their playing time, KD has been averaging around 36.2 minutes per contest. That is the most minutes KD has played since his 2013-14 Thunder days.
The coaches and the management’s decision to sit him out tonight and make sure he is rested up properly is important. They need to make sure he does not overwork himself and cause another possible major injury, or re-injure himself.
The Nets say Kevin Durant is questionable for tonight’s game against Cleveland (Achilles injury recovery).

KD sitting out tonight would also give James Harden and Kyrie Irving a chance to form some on-court chemistry amidst the two of them. The Nets take on the Cavaliers at 7.30 PM ET tonight.
