Is Nikola Jokic Playing Tonight Vs The Timberwolves? Game 2 Availability On MVP Candidate As Nuggets Host Anthony Edwards and Co

Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets steamrolled the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1. Mike Conley even stated that he felt as though Michael Malone and the entire Nuggets coaching staff knew every single one of their plays, resulting in them scoring merely 80 points in the 29-point loss.

Jokic played 28 minutes and 29 seconds in Game 1 and put up 13 points on 50% shooting from the field while grabbing 14 rebounds and dishing out 6 assists. Jamal Murray led the team in scoring with 24 points while Minnesota’s highest scorer was Anthony Edwards who dropped 18 points on 40% shooting.

Going into Game 2, most NBA analysts have chalked up this first round series as a definitive win for the Denver Nuggets, claiming it will either be a sweep or a gentleman’s sweep. However, with Nikola’s availability up in the air, perhaps Minnesota can make this series a bit more competitive.

Will Nikola Jokic play tonight against the Timberwolves?

Nikola Jokic has been deemed questionable for tonight’s Game 2 due to a right wrist sprain. It’s unclear if he’ll be able to play or not at this moment and it will likely be a game-time decision, depending on how he feels in the moment during warmups and shootaround.

Jokic has downplayed his wrist injury, saying that he is fine and that it’s just some ‘bumps and bruises’. He claims that the injury isn’t serious.

He even participated in practice prior to Game 2, though he didn’t indulge in the shooting competition in the end because according to him, Aaron Gordon always wins.

During Game 1, as the Nuggets starters checked out of the game during garbage time, Jokic took to the bench and had an ice wrap around his injured right wrist. He played parts of the game with the wrist taped. If he decides to play tonight, he’ll most likely have his wrist taped once again.
