Is Zion Williamson Playing Tonight vs Wizards? Pelicans Release Injury for 6ft 6" Forward

The New Orleans Pelicans are in a bit of trouble right now. With Zion Williamson out, they had lost four of their last five contests. Despite the recent skid, the team is still sitting in the 3rd spot in the West, 2.5 games behind the first seed.

The Pelicans suffered back-to-back losses against the Nets and the Mavericks. Playing without CJ McCollum, Bradon Ingram, and Zion, the Pels managed to stay within striking distance of Luka Doncic and the Mavericks. However, they ended up losing the contest 127-117.

As they head to Washington, the Pelicans would hope to get a win over the struggling team in DC. The fans wonder though. Is Zion Williamson suiting up tonight?

Zion Williamson is OUT against the Wizards

Zion Williamson was playing at an All-Star level. He was averaging 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 4.6 assists a game. Zion was achieving these numbers while shooting 60.8% from the field. However, he suffered a hamstring injury while playing against the Sixers, which ruled him out for several weeks.

Now, the Pelicans need to find a way to keep themselves afloat while their star player returns from his injury.

While Zion Williamson will be OUT tonight, the Pelicans get CJ McCollum back.

Larry Nance Jr is probable for the contest, whereas Brandon Ingram is still OUT. The Pelicans would have a tough time without their star duo of Ingram and Williamson, but with CJ back, they’d have a veteran floor general to lead them and take over in the clutch.
