After the Warriors’ disappointing blowout loss against the Suns without Devin Booker, Kendrick Perkins retracts his precious praise for Green.
This season has been terrible for Draymond Green personally. He has been averaging 4.9 points, 6.7 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game. But his role and his contributions to the team are much more what the stat sheet can record.
The former Defensive Player of the Year has been off to a slow start this season and hasn’t been putting up the All-Star calibre numbers he once used to. But Green has been a mentor for rookie James Wiseman. He gives his 100% defensively every single game and is the team’s vocal leader.
Draymond Green and the Warriors have had a much better start this year compared to last year’s devastation. The Warriors have a decent record of 10 wins and 9 losses to place them 9th in the Western Conference. But they’ll be aiming a lot higher than this mediocrity.
Kendrick Perkins calls out Draymond Green after Warriors’ loss to the Suns
Kendrick Perkins has been talking highly of Draymond Green for quite some while. Perkins has called Green the ‘Heart and soul’ of the Warriors. He also refers to Green as the leader of the Warriors team. But after another terrible display, Perkins wrote this on his Twitter about Green:
“Okay it’s time for Draymond Green to give more! I love the things he do that don’t show up in the stat sheet but now it’s time for him to actually start showing up in the stat sheet!”

Green needs to be shooting the ball better than 22.6% from the 3-point line and 34.6% from the field. He has to take off some burden from Stephen Curry’s shoulders. Although, Green has been helpful to the Warriors in this same role for the past many seasons, even during their championship runs, its time for him to assert himself as a scorer.
