The 24-year-old finds himself in the middle of an MVP-caliber season and has gone from strength to strength over his young career. The #3 overall pick from 2017 has already made it to the All-NBA first-team while also setting himself firmly as the franchise centerpiece of an NBA contender.
With such recognition, Tatum’s marketability has also seen a considerable spike. A member of the Jordan Brand‘s entourage, the Celtics forward is allegedly set to launch his signature shoe very soon.
And the rollout for the grand launch of his own shoe has seen Tatum lineup in some rare Jordans. Sporting an unreleased pair on a record-breaking night was just the icing on the cake in this regard.
Jayson Tatum broke Larry Bird’s record for most 50-point games as a Celtic in unreleased AJ37 Lows.
Among the list of Celtics superstars, Larry Bird trumps everyone but Bill Russell in terms of personal accomplishments. The 3-time MVP and NBA Champion was a generational talent who set quite the list of records as a Celtic.
With 5 fifty-point outings, Bird also held the record for most 50+ nights by a Celtic. However, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Tatum lay this long-standing record to siege. And on a special night like that, flexing your finest footwear is one way to go about things.
Tatum took the floor sporting unreleased Air Jordan 37 Lows as he dropped 51 on the Charlotte Hornets. A black and white colorway of the same was Tatum’s weapon of choice for his special night.
Quite the predecessor to his own signature line of shoes, if the rumors are true. The Celtics star seems to be setting his sights on the “Sneaker King” tag too, to go along with his ascending status in the NBA.
The unreleased Air Jordan 37 lows worn by Tatum are set to hit the market later this year.
With Tatum giving the public a sneak peek of the AJ37 lows, the buzz around them hit the roof. The sneakers are expected to hit the market in Spring 2023 and are expected to cost $175.
However, there has been no official confirmation of the same. As is the case with Tatum’s rumored signature shoe. Jordan brand is sure to capitalize on the attention and make a grand launch soon if one were to bet on it.
JT might be the Celtics’ great big hope in basketball. And Jordan brand seems to be investing in the young superstar’s potential too. As things stand, all parties appear to be in a position to succeed in the long run.
