'Jokic, Embiid, Giannis better than Steph Curry?': Nick Wright slammed for controversial player's pyramid, roasted for placing LeBron James at the top of the pile

Nick Wright posted his personal NBA player pyramid with LeBron James at the top, but the rest of his list earned him a lot of flak.

A major LeBron stan, Nick Wright has gained notoriety for being the first talking head to actively pursue the ‘LeBron is GOAT’ notion. People who place LeBron at the top of the GOAT pile are usually nuanced in their arguments. But Wright often commits the cardinal sin of maintaining double standards.

His latest NBA pyramid is the latest abomination in a series of terrible takes over the course of the season. Just take a look at his pyramid for yourself, and you’ll understand why:

What is wrong with Nick Wright’s pyramid?

There are so many things wrong with this, but we’ll start at the top. Luka at #3 is a preposterous proposition despite the Slovenian’s stats. Wright also places Jokic, Embiid and Giannis all above Steph, Kawhi and AD. In addition, he’s bumped James Harden down to the 5th rung below Damian Lillard.

The travesties hardly end there. Wright has got Chris Paul, Bradley Beal and Donovan Mitchell on rung 5 – none of whom belong there based on this season. Jimmy Butler is below PG-13 on rung 6, and at the same level as Jamal Murray and Zion Williamson.

Literally every rung has a problem with it. Jaylen Brown is below Jamal Murray for crying out loud. If an intern made this kind of a list at ESPN, (s)he would be fired on the spot.

Twitter reacts to Nick Wright placing Steph on the 4th rung

Understandably, there were vitriolic reactions for this list all over Twitter.

Overall, it’s not a good look on a sports talk show host to put up a haphazard list like this. But Nick Wright could hardly care – he’s going to be on to the next news cycle by now.
