Ian Eagle, who’s in contention to be TNT’s main play-by-play guy next season, gave us a few more memorable calls in Jazz vs Clippers today.

Marv Albert has announced that 2020-21 will be his final season as a broadcaster for TNT. While many consider the octagenarian to be one of the greatest of all time, he’s been having too many gaffes. Its a good thing they’re looking to replace him without sullying his reputation.
Ian Eagle, Brian Anderson and Kevin Harlan are the 3 play-by-play guys currently on TNT’s roster other than Marv. All 3 of them have compelling cases of their own.
Ian Eagle, in particular, has been an amazing sportscaster in the business for nearly 3 decades. Most fans believe that it’ll be either him or Kevin Harlan taking the main play-by-play role.
In my book, there is no bad choice of the 3. But Ian Eagle is definitely the best of the 3 at making quick-witted calls that relate ongoing events in the game to other domains of our lives.

Eagles has been in his element during this playoff season either. The best poster of the playoffs thus far came from Kawhi Leonard, and thankfully for us fans, it had Ian Eagle on the mic at the time.
If Kawhilight wasn’t a thing before this particular call, it most certainly is one now. Eagle has also popularized nicknames like ‘The Fro Show’ for Jarrett Allen, among other things.
His call on Jordan Clarkson this game was particularly memorable. The reigning Sixth Man of the Year was on fire alongside Bojan Bogdanovic in the first half for Utah today.
The Jazz set a record for most 3-pointers in a playoff half with 17 today. They also set the record for most 3-pointers in a playoff quarter with 10 during the first quarter. The call in question, however, came in the 2nd quarter,

“This is like DJ Khaled, Another One!” is definitely up there with some of the best calls Eagle has made over the years.
