“Kawhi Leonard and PG Spanked the Celtics Duo”: Kendrick Perkins Flips On His ‘2023 Champions’ Take as Jayson Tatum and Co. Lose Back-to-back
There are plenty of great duos in the NBA. LeBron James & Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard & Paul George, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton to name some, by the end of the 2021-22 season, however, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown established themselves as one of the best duos in the league.
If you ask around in Boston, people won’t think twice about declaring them The Best duo in the NBA and probably add that JT is currently the best player.
ESPN analyst and former champion with the Celtics, Kendrick Perkins is no different. The man hasn’t left Jay’s bandwagon after their meltdown in the 2022 Finals.
However, with every Celtics loss this season, he comes to his senses every now and then and Monday night was one of those nights.
Kendrick Perkins calls out the ‘spanking’ Kawhi Leonard and Paul George gave to Celtics duo
The Celtics were 17-2 in the last nineteen games when they visited California, starting with the team that won the championship against them last season. This was the first meeting between them since the Finals, and Jayson Tatum and Co. Must have had redemption in their mind.
But the #1 team of the East couldn’t take advantage of either their own tremendous form or the Warriors‘ shaky start to the season and tasted a humbling 123-107 defeat. Big Perk, who has been as big a critique of the Warriors as he the fan of the Cs, did apologize to the Dub Nation after that L on Saturday.
And then the man had to double it down in the very next game as Tatum and Brown failed against another team from California that is represented by Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. He had some choice words for the Jays on Twitter.

Kawhi Leonard’s comeback adds another title contender to the West
The West is getting tighter this season than it has ever been. With the Pelicans, Grizzlies, Nuggets, and Suns sitting at the Top-4 and the Warriors and Lakers outside of Top-8, things are going to get crazy as the season progresses.
And keeping in mind that the Clippers are at the 7th position with a 16-13 record, having Leonard played just 9 games, it is developing towards a post-season that we have seen in a long time in the West.
But for that, both Kawhi and the Clips need to take care of his conditioning all throughout the season. They have to do it at any cost because the Playoffs are as tasteless without The Klaw as they are without LeBron James.
