“Kendrick Perkins can’t get Nikola Vucevic’s name correct”: Kevin Durant bodies former OKC teammate as LeBron James laughs during the All-Star 2021 Draft
Kevin Durant roasts Kendrick Perkins during the All-Star Draft 2021 for his inability to get Nikola Vucevic’s pronunciation right.
After what seemed like endless doubt, the NBA has announced that there will be an All-Star game in 2021. This game will take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
With this announcement came the All-Star draft for Team James and Team Durant. While both captains selected their teams, there was a lot of chatter and laughter. And amid all this, it seems Kevin Durant was able to drop a slight diss on Kendrick Perkins.
But who is this mystery player, and what did the Slim Reaper really say that has gotten the NBA community enthralled? Well, let’s get into it.
“Kendrick Perkins can’t say Nikola Vucevic’s name right”: Kevin Durant
The first round of the draft went swimmingly for both LeBron James and Kevin Durant. But, both captains had a tougher time in the second round. Here is where some of the more controversial decisions were made.
One such decision for Durant was picking Nikola Vucevic over the likes of Donovan Mitchell and Domantas Sabonis. However, what caught the attention of fans all around was this little line by the two-time NBA champion.
“I’mma go with (Nikola) Vucevic. Kendrick Perkins can’t say his name right, but I got it right there.”
This was of course followed by laughter by the Inside crew and LeBron James alike. And what really made it funnier, was that Durant had a straight face the whole time.

The context for this little comment is indeed a hilarious one. Early on in the All-Star voting, Perkins vouched for taking Nikola Vucevic off the list. However, as he tried to say his name, he only kept bumbling and struggled for a long time, before he said something close the right thing.
Moving away from that, with both teams now decided, fans can’t wait for the game. And given how competitive most of these players are, it’s bound to be a good one.
