"Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry have to be in my top 5": Michael Porter Jr controversially leaves out legends like Magic Johnson, Shaq, Tim Duncan from his all-time list

Alongside Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James, Michael Porter Jr controversially added Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry to his top-5 all-time list, snubbing legends like Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Tim Duncan and many more.

Basketball is one of the most difficult sports, with the NBA being one of the most talented leagues for any sport. During the course of its entire existence, there have been numerous all-time greats who have graced the league with their spectacular talents.

There are just too many legends of the game whose talents were unmatched. However, there are a certain set of players who just stand apart from the rest. Superstars like Shaquille O’Neal, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Tim Duncan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Kevin Durant, Hakeem Olajuwon amongst others, very often grace the top-10 players’ list and quite occasionally make the top-5 all-time list too.

However, there are three NBA megastars whose names have been well-spoken off and have dominated the hearts of basketball enthusiasts: Michael JordanKobe Bryant and LeBron James.

Michael Porter Jr reveals his top-5 all-time list along with his GOAT pick

Denver Nuggets’ Michael Porter Jr is one of the many NBA stars who have the trio of MJ, Kobe and Bron in his top-5 all-time list. During an Instagram live video, the forward was asked to name his top-5 all-time list, and his picks for “all-time” players were quite controversial. After calling Michael Jordan his GOAT, MPJ said:

“Mike, Kobe’s in there, LeBron’s in there, and this is so crazy that I would get a lot of hate for this but I gotta put KD on there. Like if you put KD back then like all of these dudes in this era, I think players have gotten better. So I’m putting KD in there and I’m putting Steph (Curry) on there.”

“Like I love Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, all them dudes, I just think if you put players from this age back then that they would dominate on a different level. It’s getting better and better. Players are getting better and better.”

For an all-time list, there are three players on Porter Jr’s list who are still playing in the league. The Denver player definitely had received a lot of hate for picking Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry over the likes of well-established legends like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Larry Bird, Tim Duncan.

However, to each his own. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And even though KD and Steph are still playing in the league, once all said and done, they’ll definitely go down as two of the greatest players ever.
