Kevin Durant responds to comments saying he isn't a shooter: "Explain the difference between a scorer and a shooter"

Kevin Durant definitely views himself as a shooter and as a scorer, judging from how he responded to a fan on Twitter yesterday.

Kevin Durant is undoubtedly one of the best players in the NBA right now. Even after suffering a horrific Achilles injury, the player hasn’t lost a step on the offensive end of the floor.

Despite his toughness on the court though, it seems the Slim Reaper has always been a bit sensitive off it. There are multiple instances of the superstar firing back at fans who may have criticized him far too harshly. And while this one is far more subtle, the NBA community has received yet another entry in this collection.

4 scoring titles, a 50-40-90 season and several near misses later, people are still not willing to call him a pure shooter. And that is something that KD seems to have a problem with.

Kevin Durant claps back at a comment on Twitter saying he isn’t a shooter

Kevin Durant is undoubtedly one of the greatest shooters the NBA has ever seen. Quite simply, his ability as a near 7-foot sniper has elevated him to the player he is today.

However, it seems a fan disagrees completely with the opinion that the player is a shooter at all. On a post on Twitter, this what a fan had to say on the matter.

“I’m just sayin @KDTrey5 (Kevin Durant) is a scorer, not a shooter…big difference!”

Due to the fan not emphasizing further on their statement, it is difficult to say what they meant when they said this. However, it seems Durant is not willing to take any prisoners on this one. He responded with the following statement.

“Explain the difference then”

Since this tweet, countless fans have debated on the topic. Some have said that Durant is far more than a shooter, and can score from any position, making him a scorer. Others say that to be a scorer today in the NBA, you need to be a shooter first.

Overall, it is fun to watch the NBA community burst into a debate from such a small yet powerful statement. And we’re pretty sure Kevin Durant has had a fair few chuckles at this as well.
