“Kyle Lowry will not join LeBron James’ Lakers for a minimum deal”: NBA Insider makes the Raptors star’s intentions crystal clear ahead of his upcoming free agency
Sources reveal that the Lakers pursuit for Kyle Lowry may have hit a roadblock after the Raptors star makes his requirements clear
At this point, it is no secret that the Lakers want Toronto Raptors star, Kyle Lowry.
The historic franchise has needed an impactful third option for a while now, after the likes of Dennis Schroder and Kyle Kuzma just couldn’t be consistent enough to get the job done. And that is where the Raptors guard would fit perfectly.
Even at 35-years-old, Lowry can serve as a viable third scoring option on a championship team. More than that though, the player can take the playmaking role off Lebron James’s shoulders as well, whenever it may be needed.
This all sounds perfect, sure. However, we may have to burst your bubble here Lakers fans.
Recently, an NBA insider reported that Kyle Lowry had made one of his conditions very clear to every team approaching him in free agency. And his biggest requirement may pose as a massive roadblock for the franchise.

“There will be no ring chasing under a minimum deal: Kyle Lowry makes his conditions for his free agency crystal clear
As NBA fans know by now, when players with no championship come into their late prime, they tend to want to ring chase.
For those that may not know, ring chasing is when a player will do whatever it takes to win a championship. But, while many expected Lowry to be the same way, despite his ring, it seems the NBA community could not have been more wrong about this one. Here is what Matt Moore of action Network said on the matter.
“There was some assumption from league sources that Lowry would be chasing a second ring in free agency. But while playoff or prospective playoff teams make up the list of suitors, the new operating assumption is that money will be the deciding factor for Lowry.”
He continued.
“There will be no ring chasing under a minimum deal, in other words.”

It makes sense for Lowry to demand a huge payday so close to the end of his career. However, given the Lakers’ cap space issues, this becomes a massive problem for the franchise.
Will the franchise be able to acquire Kyle Lowry this offseason? Or will they be left hanging?
Only time will tell.
