“Kyrie Irving, they pick and choose what to show”: Nuggets’ Jamal Murray reacts to criticism for Nets star after he gets in trouble with front office and NBA fans
Kyrie Irving received support from an unlikely source today after Nuggets’ Jamal Murray posted pics showing the Nets star’s deeds as a good samaritan.
Irving was apparently celebrating in public with his dad and sister. The Irving family celebrated Asia and Drederick Irving’s birthdays over the past 2 days. A segment of the viral clip contained Kyrie watching on closely as Asia blew candles off her birthday cake.
A rumor began circulating on Reddit that Irving was partying with Drake in Toronto. An NBA insider surmised that the festivities took place in Brooklyn after he made a deep-dive ‘investigation’. There has been no confirmation regarding rumors of whether Drake was with the Irving family.
Irving is currently under investigation by the league office, and could possibly be handed a ban for breaking Covid protocol. He and several members of the party were spotted without masks at a public event. This violates the league’s rules.
Kyrie Irving receives endorsement from Jamal Murray
Jamal Murray posted a tweet ahead of the Nuggets’ game against the Nets tonight. He praised Kyrie for his various efforts for humanitarian and social justice causes. Murray captioned the pictures with “They just pick n choose what they wanna really talk bout.”

Coming from Murray, this support is pretty surprising. Murray and Kyrie feuded in late 2018 after Irving threw the ball into the crowd during a game between the Celtics and Nuggets. Irving believed that Murray should not have tried to shoot the ball with the game result already decided.
If Irving has violated the Covid protocols, then he will definitely face a steep fine and suspension from the league. James Harden managed to dodge a bullet for his preseason antics. But with the season in full flow now, enforced stoppages like this will be dealt with in proper seriousness.
